And after all that, you may find that some CD's play OK in some players, and not in others. My Technics autochanger rejects CD's that our fancy Sony player copes with, and my little portable will spit out CD's that both of the others play fine. And the PC's CD player will cope with anything, even the deally naff CD's! I think it's all down to the quality of the laser, which is one of those things where you get what you pay for...
