Hello Kirsten
Mo Ghile Mear "Our Hero" is a song written in honour of Prince Charles Stewart, or Bonnie Prince Charlie, as he is also known by. It can be found on the Chieftains' album "The Long Black Veil". There it is sung (not very well, I'm afraid, but...) by Sting. It is in gaelic, and I don't have the words, nor do I know of any translation, but it is a very nice song.
Another hero song is "Joe McDonnell", about seven prisoners who died for Ireland in a hunger strike. You'll find it on The Wolfe Tones' album "A sense of freedom".
Well, that's two.
