I have a friend who pushes Tab on me all the time. My reasoning is, if you can take the time to learn Tab, why not just learn to read music instead? To me Tab is an inferior form of music notation. It's not all that much harder to learn All Cows Eat Grass and Every Good Boy Does Fine, plus a little bit about quarters and eighths and sixteenths, and then there's no need for Tab.
