Was the reason for only one "f" in the current registration of the Ffestiniog's name because (a)it was basically gricing saxons who could not be either bothered to check up on the proper spelling, or (b) were ignorant of the fact that a single "f" in Welsh is pronounced as the English "v" or (c)that they could not read the map where the correct spelling of Ffestiniog is clearly shown?
