I saw Jackson C Framk in the late sixties/early seventies in London - at Bunjies I think it was . That was the most miserable, narkey performance ever. When he come on stage Franks glowered at the audience without saying a word for what seemed like ten minutes ; then he went straight into the set without introducing any of the songs . when the break came he just walked off the stage and reappeared about half an hour later . Half way through the second set he spoke. "Has anyone here done anything about Biafra ?" (the Biafran war was going on at the time)After a while a man timidly put his hand up .Jackson C Frank asked him what he had done and the man told him he had written a poem for Biafra .jackson scowled at him and said " A poem hmmm.Well I suppose that's better than nothing " then looked around at the rest of us with contempt ,sang a few more songs and that was it. Having said that, he did sing impeccably.
