Here is one of my very favourite feminist songs of all time - "I'm Gonna Be an Engineer" - I first heard it sung by Angele Arsenault, at a folk festival about 15 or 20 years ago - then didn't hear of it again until I found it on the DT - credited, words and music, to Peggy Seeger, 1970. When I read the words alone, they seem to have an angry tone - but Angele sang this with excitement, and more a feeling of rebelliousness than anger. Alas, the DT as yet has no tune ... I remember fragments, but can't sing through the whole thing. So for now I'll make up what I'm not sure of. Anyone who knows this song, can sing louder than me ... and if no one knows it, well no one will know which parts are not as originally composed!
