I have just been watching the BBC4 broadcastfrom Cambridge. All Neil Hannon. No folk there then, and unless the sound men were cutting back on them, no0t much reaction from the audience. Countess, the fact that you found your list commendable is surely more a serious condemnation of previous festivals. Your list was a very small subset of the total lineup, and although qualifying as folk too many of your list verge on folk-rock with the emphasis on the ROCK. What is totally lacking is a strong representation of the mainstream folk artists. There are so many festivals every weekend with a small fraction of the attendees at Cambridge with two or three times the number of class folk acts. Richard
