1. After the Australians were forced to turn in their guns; the murder rate by guns went UP by 67% (Criminals do not opey the laws. This is why they are called criminals).

2. I live East of Nashville, TN. Before the citizens were allowed to get a concealed handgun carry permit; there was 318 murders by guns. the year AFTER citizens could carry guns; the murder rate fell by 80%. There was only 68 murders by guns after people could carry a weapon.

I would highly recommend you read Dr. John Lott's excelent book to you "More Guns; Less Crime" At first he was a firm supporter of gun control; but after researching the matter; he realized Huns were used to stop many times the number of crimes than the crimes were committed with guns.

If ONE person on the train had been armed when Colin Ferguson started murdering people because they were Caucasion; he would have been stopped before he could murder 18 people. A few of the school shootings by children were stopped from being a blood bath by a teacher and vice principal going to their car and getting their gun.

In Gun control; the people wanting gun control are applying to people's emotions to get a knee jerk reaction.

For me to get the handgun carry permit; I had to take a course that taught us the law we have to apply to the carrying of a handgun, and be tested to ensure we understand it (I received a score of 94 out of 100, THEN I had to fire my weapon 50 times at a target from three different distances. I received a score of 97 out of a possible 100, then I had to pay $115 for the handgun carry permit, and have my fingerprints placed on file with the FBI. If the FBI found ANYTHING; I did not get the handgun carry permit, and I lost the $115. If sometime in the furture; I ever commit a crime; and leave my fingerprints; they might as well send a Mariachi band into the FBI to get their attention.
