wow..great idea marion..could have been nice ambiance for the rain too....experienced similar this week playing outdoors. We were on stage..there were bad clouds coming...no rain, but alot of lightning off the distance. The mosquitos were quite bad for the audience. We did the first of 2 sets, one hr each. Following Set 1 I told the crowd we'd be back in about 10-15 mins..long enough for the fiddle player to rest up. I highly encouraged them to stay, but 190 people out of 200 left. So there we were. The event organizer was swift though. He invited everyone to the office for a pint and we sat around and played unplugged, even practiced some newer songs for us. Ended up being great...the last 10 people had fun, and as mentioned by someone else..we got paid to practice. ....Slàinte!~
