Waaaaaaaaaaay back on 22 Aug 2004 I wrote to a thread about "Is Martin Carthy Shite" under my pseudonym of BFG.
I responded to Gene Burton's comment with a derogatory remark about Gene thinking it would be treated as a joke (I admire Gene and have bought one of his CD's & blagged another off him - I even judged him in a songwriting comp and he 'walked it')
Well! Gene saw the funny side of it but I gather others might not have been so amenable so I hereby A P L O G I S E unreservedly to Gene and would like to say........
He is one of the most original young performers I have ever had the opportunity to meet - He has a maturity in voice & guitar style and songwriting far beyond his youthfulness and I am sorry for my crass thoughtlessness in my original thread posting.
If you are a music venue organiser I can highly recommend Gene to you.
