Hi, I'm writing about the traditional song Country Life as performed by the Watersons for my dissertation. Does anyone know anything about his origins such as how old it might be, who wrote it, if it was a popular song before the Watersons recorded it, etc. I know there are other threads on it, but no-one seems to have got beyond the bloke that taught it to the Watersons.
