The curse is to do with the World Series, not the ALCS. But there's some nice symmetry this year, for those who are superstitious: the Sox haven't won a pennant since '86, and haven't won a World Series for 86 years. So for numerologists in the crowd, perhaps 86 can be worked into something good.

I remember watching Wade Boggs in tears after the final game in '86 --it sure gets intense. I'd love to see them win.
