Interesting! My great-grandmother was a McFarland (my records show it spelled that way) but she was born in Iowa and lived most of her life in Nebraska -- so if we're related at all it must be pretty distantly. My line of Scottish ancestors comes down through the females, so the names change every generation. I like your lyrics, especially the songs about the Clearances and Culloden.
