This is one of the most interesting threads yet. And to think it just started with the cost of gas. The big answer in Alaska is "Open ANWR"--the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Never mind that we could easily save more than ANWR would ever produce. We could increase the air pressure in our tires, we could car pool, we could drive economical cars--our Toyota gets 40 mpg. No, open ANWR is all we hear. And then when it is gone? There is a finite supply of oil, and we are parasites on this planet determined to kill our host. And though I do some recycling, and make other efforts to be more green, there are probably a lot more things I could be doing, also. And I remember filling up once during a gas price war in Detroit, 1961 at 14.9 a gallon.
