I admire the sounds created by open tunings. But for thoses who want a open tuning sound without the change from standard. Try putting a partial capo on the 3,4 5 strings at the 2nd fret. You'll get an interesting effect that sounds impressive. I also get similar effects from playing short chords on the trebles with the basses as drones. It is even interesting for picking.
