All I know is that you can get the banjo player in your bluegrass band really ticked off at you if you make too much fun about his reliance on a capo. Since the Scruggs-style of banjo playing makes heavy use of open strings, capo-ing and retuning are a fact of life for these unfortunate souls (oops, there I go again). Rich
