Bill Cameron Looking For Good Slide Guitar Solo Tunes (11) RE: Looking For Good Slide Guitar Solo Tunes 03 Nov 99

I play slide in standard tuning. It's not that hard if you know your scale patterns inside out and have an idea what note you're going to end on. You look for opportunities to play two strings side by side. It takes practice to get decent intonation when there's so much up-=and-down the strings, but its strictly a technique thing. And you don't have to play fast to sound good. (good thing that).

I do it cause I'm lazy. Tried those open tunings for awhile, but there's too much brainwork in learning them up and down the fingerboard for this old dog.

Sorry, no idea what's a good tune. Except if you do 'Stormy Weather", expand your horizon to "Stormy Monday" ;>=
