GUEST,Alan Day Tune Req: Rosbif Waltz (75* d) RE: Canadian tune: Ros bif (Rosbif Waltz) 03 Nov 04

This tune was originally collected by a lovely French guy called Phillipe Krumm.Phillipe organised many French festivals including Ris Orangis and played melodion in a band called Paris Centre.I think we have been a bit lucky here as Phillipe never recorded (as far as I know) this tune.Where he got it from I do not know.Mel wrote it down one night when we were having a session. The band specialised in music from the Auvergne area so I would not be suprised if that is where it originated.
Phillipe and I visited an event he was organising at a museum of push pull instruments which was being recorded for French TV, as at that time he had no one to demonsrate the concertina he asked me to do a spot. This worried be a bit, but not as much as a clowns concertina I picked up for the first time and was enjoying myself in a corner and the TV director said "We would like you to play that as well".My mates said I looked terrified as the camera came over my shoulder to film my playing on TV after an hours practice.
