I think the most poignant Famine song of all id Na Prátaí Dubha composed by Máire Ní Dhroma of Ring, Co Waterford. If you want a good strong, expressing the utter depression of defeated rebels and their spirit to rise up again, you won't get better than the traditional Irish version of Sliabh na mBan written after the disaster of 1798.
