Hi Mary! The other is Jed Marum, who I met through Mudcat. Besides being a very fine player, singer, and melody-writer, he has a great talent for writing historical ballads. It was hearing him and getting one of his CDs (Streets of Fall River) that inspired me to start writing in earnest, and I've made a conscious attempt to learn from and emulate his style.

PS to Mary: I still think your line "their eyes are on the highway instead of on the sea" is brilliant - I'd like to hear that song again sometime. What CD is it on?
