Martin, 'political correctness' means abdicating your own independence of thought to the (usually liberal) orthodoxies of the time. e.g. "Happy Holidays" instead of "Happy Christmas"; for fear of offending Jews and Muslims. Questioning unthinkingly zenophobic use of language is not political correctness. Using that accusation is just side-stepping the issue. Would you feel comfortable using such terminology in the company of a Japanese colleague?
