{O)

Black-eyed peas and collards for New Year's Day, along with ham. I was always told you eat it to bring money in for the new year...collards for dollars and peas for pennies.

I also had a great-grandmother who would not wash clothes on New Year's Day. According to superstition you wash on New Year's Day then you wash for a funeral (i.e. someone close to you will die within the year)

Other than that...the usual fare, turkey, potato salad, ham and whatnot. Who was it that was asking me for the squash casserole recipe again?
