We used to listen to this on the old wind-up talking machine. Here is my best recolloection of how it went: I was waterin' the flowers, on my window sills, When I saw them comin', over yonder hills... Why, there must have been a Million, of every shape and size! So I yell to everyone "You'd better get inside!" Chorus: Close the door! They're comin' in the window, Close the door! They're comin' up the stair! Close the door! They're comin' in the window! Them (rattle a can of dry peas in this rhythm: CHA-cha-ch, CHA-cha-cha, CHA-cha-cha, CHA) are everywhere! Well they got into the kitchen, they got into the sink! The went down in the cellar...and pourd themselves a drink! They got on the piana, ran up and down the keys, Soon I was a'standin' in them, right up to my knees! Chorus Well I went into the playroom, grabbed a baseball bat, And every time I saw one, well, I gave 'em this an' that! But it nearly drove me wild, it had me mystified... The more an' more I knocked 'em down, the more they multiplied! Chorus Now that all the fus is over, I sink into my chair! The house is all a'shambles, but really, I don't care! I'm goin' to take her easy, try an' not to think of them (rattle the can as in the chorus), Oh! Here they come again! Chorus Happy singing. Chaz
