Why would you start with an instrument that is basically a musical dead end like a kalimba?" A good call. I started out at 8 years old on the Clarinet, encouraged by my parents who liked Acker Bilk! But I liked to sing and gravitated towards the guitar at 16 because I liked modern music played on guitars. Wish I had started earlier.
