Devon folk music supporters and performers have set up a new organisation to raise money for charity in response to the south east Asia earthquake disaster appeal.



The organisation has been named FOLKAID and a website is under construction www.folkaid.co.uk

The organisation has already raised £500 at the recent launch of the Mick Burch CD "Listen" which has been presented to The British Red Cross.

The organisation plans to organise other concerts and fund raising events o raise funds for the current disaster and other worthy causes.



A concert has been arranged at
The BARNFIELD THEATRE EXETER

on Thursday 27th January. Commencing at 8pm (doors open 7.30pm)

Tickets with reserved seating all at £20

The event is sponsored by Market Carpets Ltd

The entire proceeds of the ticket monies,

collection, prize draw,

and sale of donated CDs will go directly to the DEC Earthquake appeal



The performers will be


The BBC Folk award winners SHOW OF HANDS

with Singer songwriter Steve Knightley

and multi instrumentalist Phil Beer

having just completed another totally sold out tour of the UK.



Folk legend RALPH McTELL who needs no introduction whatsoever



Local support from Asprey, Billings and Ewart.
