When it comes to a phos. bronze, I use the cheapest I can find. Euphonon String Co. out of Orford, NH. has strings for about $3.00 a set affording me to replace them more often. Euphonon will customize your order to any combination you want. They can provide loop ends for banjo and mandolin. The strings come without any indivual wrappers or fancy packaging. Remember, this is a string company and more likely than not, these are the same strings that major guitar builders order with their names and packaging. I usually pay an extra dollar per order to have them sent in a long box so that the strings are'nt coiled, which means they're not stressed before I get them. There has been a couple of times in twenty years I've had problems with the product, I order a doz sets at a time once a year. The gortex Elixers are stirring quite a buzz among guitar players everywhere, I'm just not ready to spend $20 for strings. Mudjack
