stuck in the 70's Looking for lyrics (1) Looking for lyrics 03 Oct 97

Looking for any info about a folk song I remember hearing in the early 70's or perhaps late 60's. This is what I remember: Singer sounded like Donovan but I don't think it was him. The words "My love she likes to something something ... ...(a couple more lines) ... whenever I can" Possibley the refrain "Alone and afraid ...something something...the wind" It's been haunting me for years and any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
