Burke BS: Buy Blue? (49) RE: BS: Buy Blue? 24 Jan 05

Ethical purchasing to me is like ethical investing. I do want to use my money in a way that matches my values. Mostly that means trying to opt out of our consumerist society and buy less, perhaps spending more on things that will last. Getting fair trade coffee is pretty easy; finding information on which jean manufacturers have better records is something else.

I picked a 0% company and a 100% company at that site & was disappointed. It is completely driven by political donations or lack there-of. They list all these nifty categories like Business Ethics and Sustainability Practices but Not Rated seems to be the standard information. I think a site like Responsible Shopper has a better range of information.
