Met her in 89 at Kerrville Tx. Lovely woman in every way. Certified earth mother with gray braids and an interest in American native spirituality and issues. Having heard a little of her early 60's stuff, I'd say her style was really rooted in Texas old-time then and maybe didn't go uptown with trends...considering the people she ran with, I really don't know why. Most telling anecdote in the Hajdu book Michael S mentioned was how she pulled a gun on Richard Farina (his own gun) after he had been mean to her in a restaurant. He deserved it. That's just the way the girls are from Texas. The word "feisty" comes to mind. W-O
