Hello! Yes, I have a pet hamster called "Pinkie". I think it's a female. She's very nice. I have bought her the best Habitrail lodgings that money can buy, and she goes around and around in the tunnels and in the exercise ball. She is affectionate and ever so soft and cuddly.
What I am concerned about is whether I should breed her yet...or at all. It would require getting a male hamster. I'm not sure if she would want to breed, and I wouldn't want her getting upset. The male hamster might turn out not to be a gentleman. It's hard to estimate their character in a pet shop.
Is there a danger of violence erupting if they are put together? I would not want to be the cause of that.
Marriage seems to have made my Aunt Penelope very happy, and I am thinking that Pinkie is of marriagiable age now. She's at least 6 months old, according to the store I bought her from. That's marriageable with hamsters. They mature quickly. Still, what if her potential mate should turn out to be an uncouth yobbo? That could be a real problem.
What should I do?
