Any tips on how to hear your own instrument better in a situation like T-Boy describes above? I play a pretty boomy Martin D-41 but the 3 sopranos behind me often make it impossible to hear myself (hey, I'd rather hear them too if I were in the audience-they have voices to die for). It's always really tempting to do as T-Boy says and start hammering your own axe, and I know I hate it when others do that, but I also hate not hearing my own playing. And no, moving or moniters aren't options in this setting. Any ideas from you wiley Mudcat veterans?
