At least try my suggestion. IF it is true that this only happens with new light-bulbs, that's the only explanation so far that makes sense. A socket or a circuit no matter what they are made of do not care whether a bulb is new or not. Use your reasoning powers. IF phenomenon X is intermittent then it is a function of an intermittent variable, not a constant. A
