That explains why the Irish fellow who wanted me to sing to his playing was so ticked off when I sang 'Nottingam ale'to this tune - only words I knew for it. Long time ago now, but I did wonder why the BBC World Service introduced itself with a tune associated with the praise of beer. Anne
