Lewis Carrol used "kluge" but Lewis Carroll coined "boojum." That's the difference--BWL isn't pronouncing the second 'L' properly.

I've met the boojum tree face-to-face--it looks rather like a carrot growing root up, on a larger scale. They're found in the Sonoran Desert, mostly around the Sea of Cortez. And there's at least one in the Desert Museum in Tucson.
