Boab BS: The Anti-Christ Is Here Now! (214* d) RE: BS: The Anti-Christ Is Here Now! 23 Feb 05

All this talk of "the anti-Christ has come among us". The anti-Christ has NEVER BEEN anywhere else but among us! He is evident in the instigators of every human conflict, large or small, in every atrocity committed either in concentration and/or death camps, in every act of cruelty in every walk of life, in war or "peace" or in the hunt for animals for "sport", or in the disdain or oppression of others.
And, Skipy---the true God HAS intervened , many, many times in human affairs. Not, as some galoots would have humanity believe, in the matter of sending plagues, killing innocent first-born sons, turning curious ladies into pillars of salt, creating all manner of disasters in industry and nature [ not even the Florida hurricanes??!!], all by way of "punishing " sinful humanity. No---but each and every one of the catastrophes mentioned HAS resulted in the Christ becoming blazingly evident to all but the wilfully blind. The God Who is Love is most apparent the greater the suffering resulting from misfortune. And not only, mark you, human misfortune.
Stop looking skyward for some supernatural something-or-other. No such thing exists, or is required to exist.
The ten commandments were an admirable innovation brought before Hebrew civilisation all those eons past---even if the common-sense rules WERE embroidered with dire threats of hellfire and damnation. But they were an example of what is good among the hotch-potch of historical fact and sheer fanciful invention which fills a large part of both Hebrew scriptures and Gospels. People WANTED to believe in something supernatural, so all kinds of situations were either invented or simply imagined.
One statement truly matters--God is Love; all else can be sorted out, with a modicum of common sense and intelligence, into gems of literary wisdom, and plain crappy mumbo-jumbo.
