I have (and have not had) any particular concerns about licensing. Possibly my mistake was believing that everyone here would understand the symbol ":-)" to imply sarcasm/lack of seriousness. And when I quote something (complete with quote marks which I'm now being explicit about) I do it to put my remarks in context - it doesn't mean I agree with the quoted text.
