No mention made of how much money the recording industry has stolen from songwriters . They make millions by paying the artist as little as possible while charging as much as possible for a cd. Of course the game is all about making money for the shareholders and the CEO. It may be legal, and capitalism is an American icon, but the world is much larger. We do not all look through the narrower scope of the American constitution. I don't use downloads except to put a tune on a song but I have little sympathy for the industry as a business. Music and song have been here for eons and traditions lived and thrived without help from either copyright law or the recording industry. My belief is that writers and performing artists should always hold the copyright to their materiel so long as they live but it could never be bought or sold. Only permission to reproduce would be granted.
