GUEST,Dave 'Taavetti' Thackeray Folklore: 40yrs of The Bothy (24) RE: Folklore: 40yrs of The Bothy 18 Apr 05

Well as one of the whippersnappers (in the age sense, and barely even in that context now!) I have some great memories of The Bothy from years gone by - but the one event that I have particularly enjoyed a fair few times is the Yuletide Office Party!

Initially off-put by a fear of eating the sandwich of a well-toiled hand, I plucked up the courage to go to this event and was not only impressed by the catering provided by everyone attending the 'Party, but also the calibre of the Residents.

You're very lucky indeed to have such a talented bunch on tap, something that us Northamptonians could only dream of. If we enjoyed dreaming of beardy types or an image of Clive claiming the World Drumming Record on the back of a beermat, or something.

You're a credit to your sort, and I enjoy returning to The Bothy whenever I can. And that's whether or not my folks are threatening to get up with their recorder/bodhran or whatever.

Well done, and happy 40th - you don't look a day over 60! ;-)
