Yep, Ratzinger it is and I can tell you that as an Irish musician living in Germany for almost 30 years now that many Germans from the music scene and other more liberally minded folk are very concerned about this decision. He is conservative to the bone and is most remembered best for the fact that, apart from having been the previous Pope`s close watchdog, he did away with a special program in Germany a few years ago whereby pregnant girls (women) should receive free advice and support. This is most definitely a step or two back into the dark ages. I think I`ll stock up on contraceptives tomorrow myself. JB
