I assumed that BS was Boz Skaggs -- Bo Svenson -- Bessie Smith -- Bart Simpson -- Brenda Starr -- Bobbi Soxx -- Bret Saberhagen -- Barbara Stanwyck -- Bartleby the Scrivner -- Bert Schweitzer (as he was known to those around him?) -- Barbra Streisand -- Beecher Stowe -- Bull, Sitting -- Black Sabbath, or the ever-popular Butternut Squash. the above also suggests "bad spelling"
