Hi everyone,

Here's a heads up for a new festival being put on near Barrie, Ontario,Canada on June 4, 2005 for all you catters who are within driving distance. Of course all foreign catters are welcome as well but it might entail considerable time, energy and monetary investment.

Minesing Unplugged is a one day festival inititated by the Friends of Minesing Swamp to raise money to help preserve one of Canada's most important wetlands.

Lots of wonderful music of all stripes will ring out at the Grenfel Community Centre Outdoor Pavilion, 1989 Sunnidale Road(10 minutes west of Barrie). Music and environmental activities/workshops will begin at noon and carry on into the wee hours.

The evening show will feature appearances by Marc Donato, Serena Ryder, Fred Eaglesmith and Jason McCoy will highlight this most excellent event.

Dave Hadfield, DON'T PANIC!, Digging Roots David Zub, Ed Winacott & Edith Hawkins, The Kempencelts, Lorraine MacDonald & Yellow Butterfly are only some of the accomplished local and musicians who are volunteering their time and talents.


Gates will open at 11am and performances run from 12:00 noon until 11 pm. This is an outdoor event. Please bring your own seating and dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Tickets: Early Bird Tickets are $25 ... $30 at the gate. Other Activities:Drumming Circle...Yoga ...Kids Play Area (Parental Supervision Required), Food/Craft vendors. Tickets will be available at Sojourn, Music Pro (both Barrie locations), The Nottwasaga Conservation Authority and local businesses for $25.00 advance. Only a very limited number will be available at the gate so please buy your ticket soon! All proceeds from this event will be used to ensure the continuation of the fine programmes now underway to protect and enlarge this fragile ecosystem.
