In case this hasn't been made clear, Mars will not be a huge red orb in the sky on the night in question. To the nekkid eye Mars will be about 20% bigger than it would appear on average. On a clear night, instead of being a Lttle little little little little orangy dot in the sky It will be a little little little little orangy dot in the sky. No huge looming red planet. The Moon appears about a zillion times bigger to the eye. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ This image (June 23) clearly shows that the moon is smaller than an ancient temple
