John Davenport of Skye has a reasonable idea, that people writing under their own proper names might take more care to get things right, but I doubt that it makes much difference in reality, and I have found that in forums such as this one, full of people who really just love the subject matter, erroneous information is usually corrected quickly. One thing I love about mudcat: it *is* full of people who just love the stuff, and a number of them know a *lot* about it. When I get good and stuck, I query mudcat. I don't always get the answer I need, but often I do, and think it's a great resource as well as a great place to sound off. I agree with all the folks who said: Join! The dues are unbeatable, and you will be in good company (don't judge by my presence here!). Stephen
