I was watching a Red Sox game the other night and remembered back to the 60's when Narragansett Beer was the official beer of the Red Sox. Curt Gowdy would start each game with HI neighbor......, and the crowd would shout back, "have a Gansett".

There was a song that went:

"Hi neighbor, have a Gansett.
It always keeps its golden promise.
Each glass is as refreshing as the first.
It's quite a beer, that Gansett beer.
Hi neighbor, have ANOTHER Gansett,
"Cause it's the beer brewed just right for drinking.

The brewery, located in RI, closed in 1981 and so went the 20 year relationship between Narragansett beer and the Red Sox.

As we say in RI, "And there it was, gone."
