Martin, are you sure Tim D's got it right re "Boating on Lough Ree"? Casey's dates are in fact, 1846-70. He was a Fenian and wrote "The Rising of the Moon" and the love song "Maire My Girl". He died from TB picked up in prison.
Could "Boating on Lough Ree" have been written by John Keegan, whose dates are, 1809-49.
