i used one from jan99 till 2 years ago, when I moved to computer based recording. But I won't sell the DPS12 cos its a handy portable recorder It DOES: have good preamps & plugging straight in gets good results record up to 6 things at once onto seperate tracks. It never crashes. never lost any data theres a very VERY good dps12 group on yahoo - best forum i was ever in apart from mudcat. Check on Operating System updates. CHeck on updateability. I seem to remember that SOme models update easier than others. they have a great FAQ and extra software (Deepstripper gets your data onto PC) IF I were to sell mine wouldn't sell for less than £200. But then, I don't wanna sell it!! check ebay. Haggle! Check for dead spots on the faders. mine has one or two where it doesnt seem to work properly p.s. Does it have the effects card? Be careful. It can be difficult to tell. Have fun Fullerton
