If you inject ink into the cartridge and then remove about 2-3 ml of ink (about a quarter of a syringe full) - that makes certain that it aint overfilled - no leaks. Also ... the ink reservoir is sometimes covered with a gel to prevent refills - ive managed to poke a little hole the mine and I've been filling it up twice a week for nearly 3 years. I print lots about 600 pages a week, only black and white. If your worried about a leak put some tissue under the printer - the ink cleans out of the machine quite easy with a bit of meths and water 10/90. With practise cartridge filling can and does work. The cartridge market is a scam. They've devised a system whereby to acquire pennies worth of ink you have to spend lots of £££ or $$$ on a complicated gadget to go around it. Stuff that for a game of soldiers!
