What an interesting and useful thread. Thanks AnneMC. I too teach a class with a deaf child so whatever info is garnered here is going to help me too. What about.... Dead Skunk by Louden Wainwright III. Children from the age of (I guess) 7 upwards appreciate its gory humour. It might be a bit too much for the youngest of school children. Maybe get the rest of the class to share in the chorus - Sadly, I'm not able to sign, but I think the signing for "Dead Skunk in the middle of the road (x3) stinking to high heaven" might be easy enough for other children to join in with the chorus IN SIGN!! Daddy's taking us to the Zoo....? The Wheels On The Bus......? Dem Bones.... Children LOVE that song!! .. I sing with the school's (plastic) skeleton and point out the bones!! (I do an anatomically correct version with older ones too.) I can't wait for term to start!! Woohoo!
