Firstly I hope that all on the other side of the pond you will not be annoyed at this suggestion.
Reading the details of those musicians that have survived the Katrina Disaster, but have lost everything,I wondered if a Charity concert could be organised for them to play at.The proceeds of the concert could be used for replacing the instruments and equipment they have lost and TV and recording revenues , CDs or Videos could be used for the current Charity fund.The venue I am sure would be donated free and I am sure many companies would help with recording equipment etc.
I would suggest Fats Domino to be the star performer but that is only my suggestion.
From recent experience you just explain to a musician what you require and they deliver.If all these guys well known to all of you did about three or four numbers on stage, you have a concert.
It is too far from here for me to organise it, but surely it cannot be too difficult for one/some of you to get this going.
I am certain this would create World wide interest.
