I've colour coded the Spines of my CDs Red - I-tunes Orange - Pre 2001 Recordings Yellow - Post 2001 Recordings Green - Applications Blue - Non musical Backups Indigo - Samples Violet - CD-ROMS and DVDs It makes me look organised. I'm not. But my CDs are.
